Is releasing your inner child difficult?
Forgot what it feels like to play again?
Tired of being tired all the time?
Constantly worried about the bills you have to pay?
Wishing you could sleep in instead of waking up to head to work the next day?
Constantly busy?
Always working?
Need a break?
Yup! Adulting is hard. There’s always something that needs to get done.
80% of the time you’re working. You may even be working and going to school. And let’s not talk about when you become a parent – there’s no such thing as taking time off!
But have you ever thought of bringing your inner child back?
You may be wondering how do you even begin to get that youthful spark back into your life that reminds you of your childhood – a time where life was light & carefree, without employment, bills or responsibility.
Well I’ve got the million dollar answer for you my darling…
VISIT A MUSEUM!!!
But noo silly, not just any museum.
I’m not talking about the traditional gigantic dimly lit museums where you walk around and stare at fossils of dinosaurs or gawk at art paintings from the 18th century until your feet start to hurt and you wish you wore better shoes.
Oh no!
I’m talking about a science meets psychology meets interactive art type of museum.
Where do you find such a magical place you might ask?
Toronto Museum of Illusions
Well well well, your inner child will thank you profusely once you enter the doors and enchant yourself at a Museum of Illusions.
There’s possibly one near to you too.
With open, active locations in 14 cities around the world, including Toronto (where I visited), New York, Berlin and Dubai, and 10 locations opening soon in cities like Amsterdam, Rome and Riyadh, these Museums are easily accessible from any continent.

What started off as a unique project in Zagreb, Croatia (2015) has become one of the fastest growing education and entertainment places in the world.
As you enter its doors you’re welcomed into a fascinating world of contemporary optical illusions that trick your eyes and your senses. Absolutely nothing is what it seems to be.
With 3D white walls, mirrors, motion, and over 70 installations of illusion displays, your mind is going to be shocked, confused and awed all at once as you wander through all types of fun adventures from small toys to reality mind-twisters.
Your inner child will have no choice but to come out.
And what I loved about this museum is that every feature has a description beside it which explains how to use it, as well as why and how we’re being tricked.
And for all of you ‘gram lovers out there, this is one museum that is 100% camera-friendly. No more discrimination against cameras! Wooo!!
They even have camera markers on the ground indicating where you can have the best angles for the ultimate photo ops. Such physics! What’s not to love?!

Museum of Illusions Highlights
I had so much fun on my visit to the Museum of Illusions in Toronto .
You’d never think that hidden away within a quaint, brown brick building exterior on Front Street was a fantasy world of fun and adventure for all ages.
From grandparents, to the disabled, to children, to adults…this is a museum for everyone!
And trust me, once you’re inside, regardless of age or ability, everyone unleashes that inner child who knows how to play and have the most amount of fun.
For me, these were my faves:
Head on a Platter (this one gave me so many laughs)
Rotated Room (this illusion blew my mind)
Vortex Tunnel (a completely dizzying but totally worth it experience)
When I left the Museum of Illusions, I left knowing that this was a place I’d never forget. A place that gave me memories to last a lifetime.
Not only did I have so much fun, but I learned about the human brain, perception, vision and science as well, without having to be in a classroom.
I’ve shouted its amazingness from the rooftops already to my friends, and now I’m telling you.
If you’re in need of a break and want to do something fun that your inner child will thank you for, visit a Museum of Illusions nearest you.
You’ll be thrilled if you do.
